THE ABOMANATION OF DESOLATION

Matthew 24

¹⁵   "Therefore when you see the ⁽²⁰⁾ ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in ⁽²¹⁾ the holy place (⁽²²⁾ let the reader understand), ¹⁶   then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains.
¹⁷   "Whoever is on ⁽²³⁾ the housetop must not go down to get the things out that are in his house. ¹⁸   "Whoever is in the field must not turn back to get his cloak.
¹⁹   "But ⁽²⁴⁾ woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! ²⁰   "But pray that your flight will not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath.
²¹   "For then there will be a ⁽²⁵⁾ great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will.

So JESUS in this scripture quotes Daniel or refers back to Daniel the prophet.

Then JESUS says, when you see the ⁽²⁰⁾ ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in ⁽²¹⁾ the holy place (⁽²²⁾ let the reader understand),

The Holy place is the second compartment of the Temple itself, which of course was located on the Temple Mount. So we know that JESUS is speaking of the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION as accruing on the temple mount in the temple.

So now we have the location down. We also know that the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION begins the great tribulation which last for 3 ½ yrs. It’s also this angel that has one foot on the land and one foot on the sea that says delay shall be know longer, this also is reference to the start of the great tribulation, that is another lesson it it’s self.

To get a clear understanding of the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION, we can read what the apostle Paul wrote in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4

2 Thessalonians 2

³   Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
⁴   Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

O.k. here we have a reference to someone who is antichrist who will sit in the temple of GOD claiming that he is GOD. This is the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION

Lets take a look at 2 other scriptures that backs this up.

Daniel 7

²⁵   'He will ⁽³⁹⁾ speak out against the ⁽⁴⁰⁾ Most High and ⁽⁴¹⁾ wear down the saints of the Highest One, and he will intend to make ⁽⁴²⁾ alterations in times and in law; and they will be given into his hand for a ⁽⁴³⁾ time, times, and half a time.

Revelation 13

⁵   There was given to him a mouth ⁽¹⁶⁾ speaking arrogant words and blasphemies, and authority to act for ⁽¹⁷⁾ forty-two months was given to him.
⁶   And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against God, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle, that is, ⁽¹⁸⁾ those who dwell in heaven.
⁷   It was also given to him to ⁽¹⁹⁾ make war with the saints and to overcome them, and authority over ⁽²⁰⁾ every tribe and people and tongue and nation was given to him.

So here we have 3 different witnesses to the same event, and how many witnesses does GOD ask us to have>>>>only 2, so here we more then double the truth.

Now it’s this war in heaven that triggers this event called ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION, Rev. 12:7

Revelation 12

⁷   And there was war in heaven, ⁽¹⁹⁾ Michael and his angels waging war with the ⁽²⁰⁾ dragon. The dragon and ⁽²¹⁾ his angels waged war, ⁸   and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. ⁹   And the great ⁽²²⁾ dragon was thrown down, the ⁽²³⁾ serpent of old who is called the devil and ⁽²⁴⁾ Satan, who ⁽²⁵⁾ deceives the whole world; he was ⁽²⁶⁾ thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

So we see here that satan who had access to heaven were he accussed the brethren day and night. Guilt is one of satans big weapons.

So satan thrown down on to the earth and this happens at the same time as the abomination of desolation.

So now we have demons that have been at war and have been defeated and now are amongst unbelievers so what do demons do …inhabit bodies. So it appears that Lucifer will take over this person who is antichrist and then start the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION.

If we read further in this same chapter we can see the same time frame that we have seen in many other scriptures 3 ½ yrs.

Revelation 12

¹³   And when the ⁽⁴⁰⁾ dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted ⁽⁴¹⁾ the woman who gave birth to the male child.
¹⁴   But the ⁽⁴²⁾ two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, so that she could fly ⁽⁴³⁾ into the wilderness to her place, where she was nourished for ⁽⁴⁴⁾ a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent.

All of a Sutton we see a transformation from this antichrist who was using peace and diplomacy to get his way, to wrath, death, destruction of the saints. He will persecute anyone who takes opposition to him.
