TWO WITNESSES
Revelation 11
3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and
they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in
sackcloth.
4 These are the two olive trees, and the two
candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth
out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them,
he must in this manner be killed.
6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not
in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to
blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
Thousand two
hundred and threescore days: 3 ½ yrs, these two guys will have great power, and
do miracles, and will preach the word.
It looks like
GOD makes his move with his to guys when satan makes his move with the
antichrist and the false prophet.
7 And when they shall
have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless
pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of
the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our
Lord was crucified.
O.k. by this we
know that they are going to be killed in Jerusalem, because it talks about the
great city, which is spiritually, called Sodom and Egypt. That shows you what
GOD thinks of the iniquity of Jerusalem right now.
You know it is
such a paradox that GOD choose to put his name there but he looks at Jerusalem
as Sodom and Egypt. Egypt representing the bondage of sin and Sodom
representing homosexuality that became so vial that GOD destroyed the place.
So GOD has some
pretty mixed feelings about Jerusalem right now.
Where our LORD
was crucified, and we know that happen in Jerusalem.
Now the prophecy
states these two witnesses will be killed on the streets of Jerusalem. Further
more they are endowed with these great powers where they will be able to shut
up the heaven that it not rain. Now we know there was also a prophet in the
Bible that was famous for that miracle, the prophet eliegha. He prayed
earnestly for 3 ½ yrs. And it didn’t. I find it funny that we have the same
time period then and now 3 ½ yrs.
Eliegha prayed 3
½ yrs. That it not rain. The two witnesses ministry last Thousand two hundred
and threescore days which equates out to 3 ½ yrs. It will not rain at that time
either.
Now they also
have the power to turn the water into blood. This happen during the ministry of
Moses and they will smite the earth with all plagues as often as they will.
Some people
teach that the two witnesses will be Moses and Eliegha and you can understand
why people would assume this. It’s like wow these are the same events that took
place at there time. The scripture also calls these to the two anointed ones
that stand before the LORD of all the Earth. That’s back in the book of
Zechariah chpt. 4 and yet because they stand before the LORD of all the
Earth. Then they show up on the mount
of transfiguration. Remember the story JESUS went to the mount of
transfiguration he took Peter, James, and John with him and there appeared
Moses and eliegha Speaking with JESUS. So putting all those things together
there have been some people who have said “YEA” this makes since and it really
seems to. Then there is one more factor Malicah chpt 4 prophcied that eliegha must come before the
great and dreadful day of the Lord.
So all these
factors together make a pretty good argument for who the two witnesses are.
Moses and Eliegha
There is also a
belief that these two witnesses will be eliegha and Enoch and the main logic
for that is someone thought about the scripture it’s appointed unto man once to
die and then the judgment. But people say Elijah and Enoch never died so the
two witnesses are Enoch and eliegha. These are the only two people in the Bible
that did not die. So people say these two have to come back, so that’s when
they die as the prophecy says about the two witnesses that their bodies will
lay in the street for three days.
However there is
a problem with that teaching, the Bible says every man has to die, well we know
that not everyone will die. We know that there will be a multitude of people
that will be raptured without dieing. So to put a doctrine around that
scripture will just not hold water. So to say eliegha and Enoch are the two
witnesses you just can’t back it up with this doctrine.
Another
possibility some teach that this is Israel and the church. And they get this
because Zechariah says these are the two olive branches that stand before the
LORD of all the earth. Well when you go to Romans chpt. 11 you have an entire
chapter devoted to two olive branches. You’ve got Israel which is the natural
olive branch and you have the church which is the wild olive branch crafted in.
So some people say this is really symbolic for Israel and the church
prophesying until the great tribulation until which time there killed and then
raptured at the end of this 3 ½ year of there prophecy.
These are some
of the interpatation none of which I believe are correct. But I wanted you to
understand what some of the thinking is out there and how they come to their
conclusions.
Now it is my
opinion that these are two literal men. Who are on the earth right now? I know
who they are I get visions from them from time to time. They come to me and
speak to me…pause and see what happens….Just kidding they come over and have
dinner not visions.
I believe that
these two men GOD will 3 ½ yrs. Before Armageddon endow with special power,
they will be stowed upon with this great ministry it will be like the apostles
have come back to life again. Now the reason that I don’t believe it’s Israel
and the church is because these two witnesses lay in the street for 3 days.
That’s pretty specific, can you imagine the church and Israel lying in the
street. It just doesn’t work.
The most
intriguing thing in my mind is that these two men have to be on earth right
now. Things are just so close to coming about meaning the return of our LORD.
Even as there is antichrist on earth today I also believe that these two
witnesses are here also. They may not know who they are. But in my own personal
opinion I believe they are on earth today.
Now some of you
may ask why could not the first idea that Moses and Elijah be the two
witnesses.
This is the
problem that I have with this idea. There is no example of reincarnation
anywhere in the Bible and since Moses has already died been buried and
resurrected, he apparently appeared on the mount of transfiguration so does
that mean he’s going to come back in a immortal body again 3000 yrs. After his
death or more. It just doesn’t make any since to me. These two witnesses have
to be dead for 3 days does Moses have to go back through that again. Makes no
since.
Now for Elijah
Malachi 4 states the Elijah has to come before the great and terrible day of
the lord, and yet the people said to JESUS you are claiming to be the Messiah,
if you’re the messiah then were is Elijah, the Bible claims that Elijah must
come before the great and terrible day of the LORD. Lets read what JESUS said
about Elijah
Matthew 17
10 And His disciples asked Him, "Why then do
the scribes say that (11) Elijah must come first?"
11 And He answered and said, "Elijah is coming
and will restore all things;
12 but I say to you that Elijah already came, and they
did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they wished. So also (12) the Son of Man is going to suffer at
their hands."
13 Then the disciples understood that He had spoken
to them about John the Baptist.
14 "And if you are
willing to accept it, John himself is (13) Elijah who was to come.
15 "(14) He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
Plan language Elijah has come already, John
the Baptist came in the spirit and power of Elijah. Elijah has come!
So if John the
Baptist came in the spirit of Elijah then it appears that that’s the way the
two witnesses will come in the spirit of Elijah and Moses. They do all the
miracles that Moses and Elijah did. So that’s why I believe there are two men
on this earth that will be posed by the LORDS spirit and prophecy as John the
Baptist born of a woman prophesied to clear the way of the LORD he also came in
the spirit of Elijah.
Two witnesses
born of flesh.
I believe that
GOD is preparing two men on the earth today. I also believe that we will see
them rise upon the earth and watch GOD use them mightily. With as much news
coverage that we have can you image the coverage these two will get WOW!
Now one thing
that I want to make clear. There is no need to argue or get upset with someone
who does not take you view as to who these two men are. That is not important,
what is important is that we recognize and understand what is going on when
this happens. It is not important to who these men are.

Thessalonians 5
1 Now as to the (1) times and the epochs, brethren, you (2) have no need of anything to be written
to you. 2 For you yourselves know full well that (3) the day of the Lord will come (4) just like a thief in the night. 3 While
they are saying, "(5) Peace and safety!" then (6) destruction will come upon them suddenly
like (7) labor pains upon a woman with child,
and they will not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are
not in (8) darkness, that the day would overtake
you (9) like a thief; 5 for
you are all (10) sons of light and sons of day. We are
not of night nor of (11) darkness; 6 so
then let us not (12) sleep as (13) others do, but let us be alert and [1] (14) sober. 7 For
those who sleep do their sleeping at night, and those who get drunk get (15) drunk at night. 8 But
since (16) we are of the day, let us (17) be [2] sober, having put on the (18) breastplate of (19) faith and love, and as a (20) helmet, the (21) hope of salvation. 9 For
God has not destined us for (22) wrath, but for (23) obtaining salvation through our Lord
Jesus Christ, 10 (24) who died for us, so that whether we
are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. 11 Therefore
encourage one another and (25) build up one another, just as you also
are doing.
